This page is dedicated to all those killed and injured because drivers won't get it into their heads that driving is a full time occupation. Updating your Sat Nav, reading the newspaper, making a phone call or reading and typing texts is not something to do whilst driving.

Stop it.

I am faster than you

I have often found that car drivers believe that because they are going faster than you, even if the road doesn't warrant it they can turn left in front of you.
As a motorcycle rider who usually keeps to the posted speed limit I have had to break hard to avoid the idiot who speeds past me then turns left without checking they have complete the overtake. Sometimes they warn me by indicating as they turn.
This short clip shows a car driver, Black VW FT11 WVL, cutting up a cyclist. He or she cannot even complete the turn without crossing into the oncoming lane which is lucky.

Weaving in Totteridge

I followed this drivers along Totteridge Lane from Hendon Wood Lane to the Orange Tree Public House.
The way he or she was weaving about indicated that driving was only of secondary importance. The erratic braking and speeding up also pointed to distraction, tiredness or being tipsy. The darkness didn't help me see inside the car. I kept my distance and was glad when they did turn off.

Witness to an accident

It is one thing being a witness to an accident and trying to remember all everything that happened. It is another thing when it is all dome on video. The accident occurred on my regular ride home from the office. Waiting at the lights I saw the whole thing as it happened. But who is to blame? At the moment both parties are saying the other one is in the wrong. White car turned across on-coming traffic but was the blue car travelling too quickly and did it jump the lights?

Mind on other things

I noticed the car as it left the driveway. It didn't look right. As I got closer I noticed the car was weaving and the driver was constantly moving. At first I thought he was on the phone but I realised he was just sorting himself out and getting comfortable. Things he should have done before he started off!
He nearly hits a bus and on-coming traffic when overtaking a cyclist.
When he disappeared completely I was astounded. It was only the verge that kept him from going off the road.
He shouldn't have been driving!

Pedestrians crossing

Sending your kids off in advance to check there are no dangers is not the best method for road safety. Luckily I am always wary about islands.
Not sure if the mother was annoyed at me or her. I did grin at the fact they started crossing the next section with no checks of the pedestrian lights.

Not giving way

Unlike my earlier post where the right of way on the roundabout was in doubt.
This time I felt the car was trying to race me. He just continued as if it was the correct thing to do.
